Erich Peter
Erich Peter is the Director of Training & Technical Assistance for UCEDC, a statewide non-profit economic development corporation. Erich is responsible for managing the organization’s training workshops, small business mentoring program, ISO 9001 consortium, as well as its Entrepreneurial Training Initiative, which encompasses two multi-session entrepreneurial training programs.  Erich comes to UCEDC with experience as both a corporate finance and management professional as well as an entrepreneur.  Mr. Peter is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Accounting.  He began his career in the public accounting industry and worked with a wide variety of businesses.  Subsequently, he worked in the energy industry for 7 years in various management and financial roles. Mr. Peter then owned and operated a printing company for six years before selling the business and joining the UCEDC team in his current role in 2008.

Esther Tanez, owner and founder of a local insurance agency, at 326 Bloomfield Ave Newark.  Esther has been in the Property and Casualty Insurance business for 29 years. In 1999, as a single mom of 2 boys, she started her insurance business from scratch in the basement of my mother’s house in North Newark and has grown it to be the largest Hispanic Woman owned agency in the State of New Jersey.  She represents some of the top insurance carriers in the industry like:    Travelers,  The Hartford,MetLife, Progressive, Mercury and much much more. Seth Wainer
Seth Wainer is the Senior Technology Policy Advisor to the City of Newark.  In that role he helps facilitate tech infrastructure investments, integrate city data, and direct initiatives to increase the city’s responsiveness to its residents.  Before this, Seth worked at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  Seth also worked in corporate retail and in national politics.  He is a graduate of Columbia University, a husband, and a proud father of a future open data enthusiast.
